Kathryn CoursolleGraduate Trainee - Sociology Advisors: Professors Megan Sweeney Year Entered Doctoral Program at UCLA: 2005 Undergraduate School/Major: University of Wisconsin-Madison/Sociology with a Concentration in Analysis and Research (CAR program) Email: Research: Broadly, my interests are at the intersection of family demography, health, and social stratification. Specifically, I am interested in whether and how relational resources moderate the consequences of major life transitions such as retirement. My current work examines the psychological well-being consequences of retirement. I am investigating the familial context of retirement to determine whether and how marital quality and spousal reports of marital quality mediate the relationship between psychological well-being and retirement. In future research, I would like to examine the well-being consequences of other relational resources such as siblings, children, parents, and close friends and also to investigate other indicators of well-being after retirement such as physical health.
