A key part of this work is the study of assortative mating (i.e., the resemblance) of married couples and other intimate partners on social dimensions, including education, socioeconomic background, ethnicity, and religion; and the implications of assortative mating for the marriage markets and the intergenerational reproduction of inequality among persons and families.
